After you upgrade your computer to windows 10, if your acer display / monitor drivers are not working, you can fix the problem by updating the drivers. it is possible that your display / monitor driver is not compatible with the newer version of windows.. In an attempt to install a dedicated driver for my new r240hy display for windows 10 (as opposed to the generic pnp driver the installs), the only one i could download was listed for windows 8.1. toggle menu acer community. Windows 10 doesn't need drivers for your monitor, even if on device manager is set as generic monitor, this doesn't mean nothing. a windows 10 driver will just change the name on device manager since all the information will be read by extended display identification data ( edid ).
