I have an hp laserjet 1020 printer but can't get it to print. the printer looks like it is installed but won't print; not even a test page. i am on a page that says, "this printer requires a downloadable driver plug-in. use hp-setup to intall the printer, and to download and install the plug-in.". It's "supported" by ubuntu 17.10 - except print jobs will not release from the print que because a special copywrited driver for hp is not installed. i went through this with 16.10 and had to install a small hp driver that i found with synaptic.. Has anyone gotten an hp color laserjet pro mfp m180nw to work? running 16.04 lts. i have the latest hp library installed. when i try to install the printer, it suggests "generic postscript" which works fine for printing, but the scanner can't be found..
